Licenses

The licenses that apply to Dynodoc's software, its standalone engine, bundled fonts, direct dependencies and artwork, with links to the full texts.

Draft revised 12 October 2026 · Not yet effective

A transparent draft, pending operator details

The legal operator, public contact details, hosting jurisdiction and governing law have not yet been confirmed. This page describes how the service currently works and the terms proposed for it. It must be completed and reviewed before it is adopted for customer data or a public launch.

Dynodoc software

The Dynodoc application, which is the web app, the API and its operator tools, is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later). The license text is the LICENSE file in the source. Because the license covers use over a network, the hosted service offers the source of the revision it runs at /source, as a downloadable archive with a manifest of file hashes.

A software license is separate from the terms of using the hosted service. It applies to the code, not to your documents or to Dynodoc’s name and artwork.

Standalone engine

The event-log, versioning and merge engine is also published as a standalone repository under the MIT license, copyright 2026 ArefinAlter and Dynodoc contributors. The copyright owner authorized that release; the application’s AGPL license is unchanged. Source and license text: dynodoc-engine on GitHub.

Fonts

All fonts are self-hosted, so reading Dynodoc makes no request to a font service. Each is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1; the full text, with the copyright notices, is linked for each.

Dependencies

These are the direct runtime dependencies as of 12 October 2026, with licenses taken from the lockfiles and installed package metadata. Each keeps its own license, and so do the transitive packages beneath them, which are not listed here. The authoritative record is the lockfile; pnpm licenses list and cargo metadata --locked print the complete set. Build and test tools are not shipped and are not listed.

Artwork, icons and marks

The pencil-and-halftone dinosaur plates on this site are original works of the Dynodoc project, drawn as silhouettes and rendered by a script in the source. Interface icons come from Lucide (ISC). Names and logos of other products, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs, identify compatibility only; they belong to their owners and imply no partnership or endorsement.
